I recently visited Shri Chamkaur Sahib to know the history of our Lord and Master Shri Guru Gobind Singh Saheb where he lost his two Sahibzadas- Baba Ajit Singh Ji (First Son) and Baba Jujhar Singh Ji (Second Son) in the battle in Shri Chamkaur Saheb.

Shri Chamkaur Sahib is a town in Punjab which is located near Chandigarh City. It is a Sub-Divisional Town in district Ropar (Roopnagar) which is famous for Battle between Khalsa led by 10th Guru of Sikh’s Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji and Mughals led by Wazir Khan. In which 37 Sikh Followers and Two Elder Sons of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji martyr here.

Gurudwara Katalgarh Sahib is the main shrine in Shri Chamkaur Sahib. In this place, Mata Sharan Kaur cremated two elder sons of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, 3 Panj Pyare and 39 Sikhs after the Battle of Chamkaur Sahib. Mata Sharan Kaur collected bodies of two Sahibzada and Sikhs from different parts of the city and nearby villages and did the last rites.

In total there were 44 bodies. In which two were of elder sons of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, 3 were of Panj Pyare and 39 were of Sikh followers.
